September 2023 - Artist Residency at Cill Rialaig on Ireland’s Iveragh Peninsula. I spent 10 days in a pre-famine village with an ever-changing sky and miles of green paths along the Skellig Way. The weather cooperated for a trip to Skellig Michael, suffused with history. I was definitely dwelling in the past. All photos by me.

March 2023 - Oak Spring Garden Foundation residency. OSGF’s mission is to inspire and facilitate “scholarship and public dialogue on the history and future of plants, including the culture of gardens and landscapes and the importance of plants for human well-being.” I was one of four artists in the Muscari cohort. The wind was blustery and the daffodils were in bloom in Upperville, VA. Plants in the landscape included last year’s thistles, chickweed, and spring onion grass. We took a field trip to see cherry blossoms in DC, shared our artwork and many delicious meals; the Foundation’s stunning Library provided other food for thought.

fall 2022 - As the Artist-In-Residence at the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, I was able to use the Center’s rare book library to connect my mushroom spore print work with the early modern period.

july 2022 and june 2023 - cyanotype workshops at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
march 2023 - Art in a Silent City exhibition. As an artist resident there in 2022, photographer Thierry Borcy and I collaborated on A New Way of Seeing, a series that explores the inherent quality of transformation in death, grief, and rebirth. I made spore prints over Thierry’s photographs. We depict the landscape, link human created statuary with natural materials, and present the regenerative qualities of fungi and plants.
